ZOOM ONLINE CLASS FAQ

WHY WERE PREVIOUS CLASSES ONLY 30 MIN?

Teaching dance online is NEW to us. We have chosen Zoom from many other platforms, as it is the most popular among dance studios and schools, despite some weaknesses.
We started with a ZOOM trial version to make sure this platform fits our students’ needs.
We did experience some trouble especially with the audio but we have now found solutions.
We are also very happy to see our students’ attendance significantly grow which gives us faith to continue our online classes with ZOOM.

MY CHILDREN(S) HAVE THEIR DANCE/ACRO CLASSES AT SAME TIME? WHAT SHOULD I DO?

We tried our best to reorganize the schedule to avoid time conflicts between same age groups and levels. If your family is experiencing a schedule conflict, we apologize and ask you to contact us to find an alternative solution.

WHAT DOES MY CHILD(REN) NEED TO WEAR?

Dancers should wear their usual dancewear. We wish for our students to be ready, on time and with suitable outfit as discipline and etiquette are parts of our values.

CAN WE JOIN AS FAMILY MEMBERS?

For our youngest ones, some parents and siblings joined the Mini Kids classes and it was a great family moment.
For older students, we wish for our students to be focused and with as few distractions as possible.

WHY ARE THE ONLINE CLASSES SHORTER THAN STUDIO CLASSES?

Safety: Some stretching, turns, acro and jump exercises cannot be taught for the safety of our students.
Limited space: Space at home is limited and doesn’t allow the “steps across the floor” section of class.
Time Schedule: Most of our classes have been set on weekends, to allow our parents to support their children with connection and computer access. This limits our schedule hours.
Focus: In the studio, students take turns in groups and so teachers can spend more time on explanation. We found that it’s not easy to keep the focus doing this via screen.
For all above reasons, we choose to offer a fun and more condensed class to our students whilst continuing to teach new steps, technique and skills!

I COULDN’T JOIN THE CLASS DUE TO TECHNICAL ISSUE. HOW CAN YOU HELP?
  • Find a place in your house where your wi-fi connection is strongest.
  • First please make sure you create your ZOOM account ahead of time and log in with your personal ID and password.
  • Then click on the invitation link to open the meeting
  • Enable Audio and Video.
  • Pin the teacher screen with “the 3 dot” function so your child can see him/her
  • Incase you are experiencing further problems, please call our Hotline Number and we will try our best to assist: 0944 75 99 25
WE MISSED THE PAST FEW WEEKS, CAN MY CHILD(REN) STILL JOIN THE CLASS?

Your child(ren) are very welcome! Their teachers and classmates will be excited to see them.
Our classes will be recorded. Private Youtube link can be sent on demand if your child(ren) missed a class or wishes to review the lesson
However, we encourage regular attendance to maintain their learning experience.

SHOW FAQ

WILL MY CHILD PERFORM IN THE DANCENTER SHOW?

Yes! Children who are registered to Performance term will perform in one or more of the Dancenter shows. If your child attends one class per week, he/she will perform in one dance. If your child attends 2 classes per week, he/she will perform in 2 dances etc.… (One class is one dance in the show)

WHICH SHOW WILL MY CHILD PERFORM IN?

Each year, Dancenter has 3 performances separated by age/dance style:

  1. Kids and Teens (Ballet / Jazz / Contemporary) Recital: at Theater
  2. Kids and Teens (Hip Hop / Tap / Acro) Recital: at Theater
  3. Adult and Teens Advanced Show: at Theater.

Show are separated into different shows for 3 reasons:

  1. To handle an adequate organization for safety reasons (backstage space and adults helpers is limited)
  2. To keep a reasonable show duration for audience and dancers waiting backstage.
  3. To be able to welcome all parents concerned (Audience seats limited)
WHY THE MINI KIDS PERFORMANCE IS HELD AT DANCENTER?

With our experience, most of our youngest students are more comfortable to perform in the studio. The 2 elements they love the most are: having their parents watching them, wearing a costume! By organizing the Mini Kids performance at Dancenter in small group format, it allows our students to perform their routine twice for their parents.

The same format in a theater would means 3 hours of performance with almost 200 “3-5 years old” to supervise and comfort on backstage. We admit our limits and believe that we proposed the best solution for your children.
We hope that you and your children will have a great time with us through-out the school year.

We always welcome any comments and feedback to help us give you a better experience.

WILL MY CHILD WEAR A COSTUME?

Yes, all dancers will wear a costume when they perform, all students will receive full costumes before the show. Dancenter works with a Professional Show Costume Company TRANG PHỤC TUẤN HƯƠNG who employs a team of 30 tailors to make more than 800 costumes within a 3 month time period.

WHY DOES MY CHILD NEED TO ATTEND THE SHOW REHEARSAL?

All dancers have one rehearsal on the stage before for big performance. This is a very important chance for the dancers to familiarize themselves with the stage and the entrance and exits needed for their dance. This is also an opportunity for students to watch the other dance styles in their age group. This is a great time for students to feel the excitement of the show and to support other students.

CAN I WATCH THE REHEARSALS?

Parents are allowed to watch the stage rehearsals in a designated area. It is important that your child stays focused
and with their teacher and sits together with their group.

CAN I BE BACKSTAGE WITH MY CHILD?

Only designated backstage volunteers will be permitted backstage. Backstage volunteers will supervise all
children, not just their own dancer.

CAN WE LEAVE AFTER MY CHILD FINISHES THEIR PERFORMANCE?

In order to make recital a fun and safe environment for all dancers, children will not be excused to their guardians
until after the show ends.
Only Mini Kids Preparatory levels who perform at the theater will have a special entrance and release schedule
for the show. All details will be given 1 month prior the show.

IF MY CHILD IS IN TWO SHOWS IN THE SAME DAY, CAN I JUST LEAVE THEM THERE FOR THE DAY?

Childcare is not provided between shows. Please pick up your child after each show and return 45 minutes prior
to the next show.

WHY PARENTS HAVE TO PURCHASE SHOW TICKETS?

The cost to organize a show is relative to the professional conditions we are willing to offer to our
students for a real show experience. Ticket revenue partly covers the following expenses: Theater rental
cost for rehearsals hours and show days, Professional lighting equipment and stage backdrop (not
included in theater fee), Lighting Designer fee, Teachers and Staff extra working hours for weekend
rehearsals and shows.
