Teaching dance online is NEW to us. We have chosen Zoom from many other platforms, as it is the most popular among dance studios and schools, despite some weaknesses.
We started with a ZOOM trial version to make sure this platform fits our students’ needs.
We did experience some trouble especially with the audio but we have now found solutions.
We are also very happy to see our students’ attendance significantly grow which gives us faith to continue our online classes with ZOOM.
We tried our best to reorganize the schedule to avoid time conflicts between same age groups and levels. If your family is experiencing a schedule conflict, we apologize and ask you to contact us to find an alternative solution.
Dancers should wear their usual dancewear. We wish for our students to be ready, on time and with suitable outfit as discipline and etiquette are parts of our values.
For our youngest ones, some parents and siblings joined the Mini Kids classes and it was a great family moment.
For older students, we wish for our students to be focused and with as few distractions as possible.
Safety: Some stretching, turns, acro and jump exercises cannot be taught for the safety of our students.
Limited space: Space at home is limited and doesn’t allow the “steps across the floor” section of class.
Time Schedule: Most of our classes have been set on weekends, to allow our parents to support their children with connection and computer access. This limits our schedule hours.
Focus: In the studio, students take turns in groups and so teachers can spend more time on explanation. We found that it’s not easy to keep the focus doing this via screen.
For all above reasons, we choose to offer a fun and more condensed class to our students whilst continuing to teach new steps, technique and skills!

Simply register! There are no auditions to join classes at Dancenter. We can help you to find the desired dance style and choose the correct age group and level. New Students who register may consider the first few weeks as trial placement classes. Students registered in an inappropriate level will be directed to the correct level during the first or second week of the term. Faculty will decide on placement and their decisions are final.
Kindly leave your contact information with the front desk office to register in our waiting list. Often a spot becomes available within the first 2 weeks of term due to student placement updates, student schedule conflicts, leaving countries, etc. Please note that following the number of students on the waiting list, Dancenter will try to accommodate a new class following the schedule and teachers availability.
We offer all dancewear for our students from our Danceshop at reception. We believe it is highly important for students to respect our dress code and dress appropriately for dance class. As discipline is part of the learning experience, please make sure that your child is wearing appropriate dance clothes as detailed in Dancenter Dress Code. You can also read about the importance of dress codes HERE.
Children’s dance education can begin as early as the age of 3, when they have the motor skills to participate in dance class. Our Dance Play classes for 3-5 years focus on allowing children to move to music and explore the possibilities of their own body whilst developing basic co-ordination, focus, balance, rhythm and a love for dance!
Dance classes have endless positive attributes, not only will your child learn dance technique and how to respect and take care of their body, but the social aspect of dance classes are invaluable. Your child will learn how treat others with compassion, enthusiasm, respect and with positivity. You child will learn the possibilities of their own body, whilst developing determination, dedication, etiquette and sense of achievement. All of these qualities can be applied not only to their dance classes, but to life.
We offer classes in 3 age groups:
- Mini Kids (3-5 years) with 2 levels: Play, Introduction
- Kids (6-11 years) with 5 levels: Preparatory, Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced
- Teens (12+ years) with 4 levels: Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced
Also don’t hesitate to contact us to advise you on the level following your child’s experience.
Kids and Teens students registered in Performance Term will perform in at least one of our Dancenter shows. We take great pride in offering our students an unforgettable experience in the Theater on stage with costumes and professional lighting. Mini Kids students will perform in costume for their parents at Dancenter studio.
We offer two opportunities for parents to watch classes, at the end of each term. This is a great time for both teachers and students to share with you parents all the hard work they have been doing during class. You can see the class warm up, learning technique and excericses and choreography.
Please find the exact dates for Observation week HERE.
Yes! It is equally important for boys to have the same opportunity to learn rhythm & timing, coordination, classroom etiquette and an appreciation for the performing arts. Dance will increase strength and flexibility, building a strong, healthy body that will help with all future sports programs and professions.
Students who dance s few times a week see a significant increase in progress. Whether taking the same dance style twice a week or taking 2 different styles, teachers can notice a great difference in students who commit to dancing more than once a week. It’s no secret, practice makes perfect! If your child has a strong interest or talent in dancing, it is a great opportunity for them to practice more frequently and develop and progress in their passion.
We also offer private classes for those students who want to progress at an even faster pace, allowing the teacher to focus solely on them, correcting them and developing their technique to the highest possible standard. For private classes, please contact reception to find out more.
Yes! Children who are registered to Performance term will perform in one or more of the Dancenter shows. If your child attends one class per week, he/she will perform in one dance. If your child attends 2 classes per week, he/she will perform in 2 dances etc.… (One class is one dance in the show)
Each year, Dancenter has 3 performances separated by age/dance style:
- Kids and Teens (Ballet / Jazz / Contemporary) Recital: at Theater
- Kids and Teens (Hip Hop / Tap / Acro) Recital: at Theater
- Adult and Teens Advanced Show: at Theater.
Show are separated into different shows for 3 reasons:
- To handle an adequate organization for safety reasons (backstage space and adults helpers is limited)
- To keep a reasonable show duration for audience and dancers waiting backstage.
- To be able to welcome all parents concerned (Audience seats limited)
With our experience, most of our youngest students are more comfortable to perform in the studio. The 2 elements they love the most are: having their parents watching them, wearing a costume! By organizing the Mini Kids performance at Dancenter in small group format, it allows our students to perform their routine twice for their parents.
The same format in a theater would means 3 hours of performance with almost 200 “3-5 years old” to supervise and comfort on backstage. We admit our limits and believe that we proposed the best solution for your children.
We hope that you and your children will have a great time with us through-out the school year.
We always welcome any comments and feedback to help us give you a better experience.

All dancers have one rehearsal on the stage before for big performance. This is a very important chance for the dancers to familiarize themselves with the stage and the entrance and exits needed for their dance. This is also an opportunity for students to watch the other dance styles in their age group. This is a great time for students to feel the excitement of the show and to support other students.
Parents are allowed to watch the stage rehearsals in a designated area. It is important that your child stays focused
and with their teacher and sits together with their group.
Only designated backstage volunteers will be permitted backstage. Backstage volunteers will supervise all
children, not just their own dancer.
In order to make recital a fun and safe environment for all dancers, children will not be excused to their guardians
until after the show ends.
Only Mini Kids Preparatory levels who perform at the theater will have a special entrance and release schedule
for the show. All details will be given 1 month prior the show.
Childcare is not provided between shows. Please pick up your child after each show and return 45 minutes prior
to the next show.
The cost to organize a show is relative to the professional conditions we are willing to offer to our
students for a real show experience. Ticket revenue partly covers the following expenses: Theater rental
cost for rehearsals hours and show days, Professional lighting equipment and stage backdrop (not
included in theater fee), Lighting Designer fee, Teachers and Staff extra working hours for weekend
rehearsals and shows.
